Learn, Exchange & Network in 5 OnlineWorkshops for projects across Europe

Across five modules on thursdays for five weeks in a row, we explore current topics of project work taking place in Europe. In each module, international experts, researchers and practitioners share their knowledge with participants and encourage them to exchange ideas. Participants then have the opportunity to deepen their discussions and build new networks across Europe.

Many projects in Europe engage in building resilience in their communities and work against extremist tendencies and polarisation in our society. Within the framework of BRaVE, we want to support projects to exchange and network across Europe, to learn from each other and to support their work with expertise.

8 April 2021 | Advocacy: Developing online and offline campaigns and advocacy approaches within projects.
15 April 2021 | Gender and At Risk Communities: Working with different gender identities, minority and at risk communities. 
22 April 2021 | Online work: Developing and running online resilience and counter-extremism projects.
29 April 2021 | Sports: Detailing the links between sport and extremism and how to use sport as a response.
6 May 2021 | The Arts: Building resilience through arts-based approaches in interfaith and intercultural projects.

The Team of cultures interactive for the BRaVE Project

Thursday 8 April 2021 | 3pm – 4.30pm CET

In times of rising concerns about extremism, organisations and projects seeking to provide a response. We need to build strong networks and connections, and share information on strategies, methods and knowledge. Finding good partners and allies can be challenging, and it is important to develop strategies that amplify the project’s impact long-term and engage with policy makers and practitioners.

Thursday 15 April 2021 | 3pm – 4.30pm CET

The module of Gender and At Risk Communities aims to support projects that work across minority groups, faith communities or around discussions on gender, and aims to answer questions like: How do I reach my target group? What knowledge do I need to have to work with my target group? And how can I ensure sensitivity to different communities and respond to different community needs? It additionally explores interfaith and intercultural aspects that projects should be aware of (such as dietary restrictions, holidays, etc.) and how to work with at-risk communities (such as GRT communities) in a way that ensures their safety?

As the world goes digital, we need to find new workable concepts for Online Streetwork and Campaigns on Social Media Channels. What is important to know when creating Online Campaigns and how can projects tackle their work Online? What are the links between online spaces and radicalisation, and how can these factors be addressed? And how can we ensure continued and impactful work within the confines of COVID-19 restrictions and best utilise opportunities on social media platforms?

How can sports be used to tackle polarisation and create an environment that fosters an inclusive, respectful team spirit? What are the counter strategies for building a more resilient and inclusive sports atmosphere in the Face of invasive Far Right movements that use public sports and hooliganism for their purposes ? And how can sports encourage gender equality and strengthen the rights of LGBTQI+?

How can we use art-based approaches - such as the visual and performing arts - in the field of prevention work? What can we learn from each other, what are effective fields of action and how can projects in this field generate valuable partnerships even across Europe? How do image-making and representation in arts-based interventions contribute to the prevention of radicalisation to violence?
